# Connect an MCP

> Connect ChatGPT, Claude and other AI apps to AgentTV over MCP: your account, one library, or the whole network.

MCP (Model Context Protocol) is how AI apps like Claude and ChatGPT connect to outside tools. AgentTV runs three MCP servers. All of them speak Streamable HTTP, the standard remote MCP transport.

| Server | URL | Sign-in | For |
| - | - | - | - |
| Account | `https://mcp.agentcdn.com/account/mcp` | Yes | Your team. Read and change your own account from an AI app. |
| Library | `https://mcp.agentcdn.com/c/{slug}/mcp` | No | Anyone. Search and play the public videos of one library. |
| Network | `https://mcp.agentcdn.com/mcp` | No | Anyone. Search across every public library. |

The library and network servers exist for [listed accounts](https://docs.agentcdn.com/concepts/accounts.md). An unlisted account uses the account MCP only. For the flow from a question to a playing moment, see [Play a moment in an AI app](https://docs.agentcdn.com/guides/play-in-chat.md).

## Account MCP

One URL works for every account. Your app asks you to sign in, and the sign-in picks your account. The account MCP offers the same reads and changes as the [account API](https://docs.agentcdn.com/api-reference/overview.md#account-api).

You find the URL and these steps in the console under **Settings**, then **API and MCP**.

> [tab] Claude
>
> 1. In Claude on the web, desktop or phone, open **Settings**, then **Connectors**.
> 2. Choose **Add custom connector**. Name it AgentTV and paste `https://mcp.agentcdn.com/account/mcp`.
> 3. Choose **Connect** and sign in.

> [tab] ChatGPT
>
> Developer mode needs a Plus, Pro, Business, Enterprise or Edu plan.
>
> 1. In ChatGPT, open **Settings**, then **Apps**. Under **Advanced settings**, turn on **Developer mode**.
> 2. Choose **Create**. Name it AgentTV, paste `https://mcp.agentcdn.com/account/mcp` and choose **OAuth**.
> 3. Sign in.

> [tab] Claude Code
>
> ```bash theme={null}
> claude mcp add --transport http agentcdn https://mcp.agentcdn.com/account/mcp
> ```
>
> In Claude Code, run `/mcp`, choose `agentcdn` and sign in.

> [tab] Cursor
>
> Add this to `~/.cursor/mcp.json`:
>
> ```json theme={null}
> {
>   "mcpServers": {
>     "agentcdn": { "url": "https://mcp.agentcdn.com/account/mcp" }
>   }
> }
> ```

> [tab] VS Code
>
> Add this to `.vscode/mcp.json` in your project:
>
> ```json theme={null}
> {
>   "servers": {
>     "agentcdn": { "type": "http", "url": "https://mcp.agentcdn.com/account/mcp" }
>   }
> }
> ```

> [tab] Gemini CLI
>
> ```bash theme={null}
> gemini mcp add --transport http agentcdn https://mcp.agentcdn.com/account/mcp
> ```
>
> Start Gemini CLI and run `/mcp auth agentcdn` to sign in.

> [tab] Other apps
>
> Most apps that support remote MCP need only the URL and a sign-in. If an app runs only local MCP servers, use:
>
> ```bash theme={null}
> npx mcp-remote https://mcp.agentcdn.com/account/mcp
> ```
>
> If an app cannot sign in, create an [account API key](https://docs.agentcdn.com/api-keys.md) and send it with every request:
>
> ```text theme={null}
> Authorization: Bearer <API key>
> ```

### What the account MCP can do

Reads:

* Your account, libraries, links and members.
* Videos, transcripts, timelines and Library Memory pages (`list_videos`, `get_video`, `get_transcript`, `get_video_timeline`, `get_memory_page`).
* Answers from your library with the exact moments (`ask_library`, `find_moments`).
* The questions people asked, Ask reports and AI app usage (`list_questions`, `get_ask_report`, `get_agent_usage`).
* AI access settings and AI Video Visibility reports.
* Your catalog source and imports (`get_catalog_source`, `get_import`).

Changes:

* Video title, description and visibility (`update_video`).
* AI access: Allow or Block for citation, playback and training (`set_agent_access`).
* Featured questions on your public pages.
* Imports, your catalog source and catalog picks (`start_import`, `connect_catalog_source`, `import_catalog_items`).
* Webhooks, links, members and Ask keys.

Most changes run in two steps. The first call returns a preview and changes nothing. The app runs the change only after you agree to that preview.

Try these in a new chat once the app is connected:

* "What did people ask about my videos this month, and which questions got no answer?"
* "Find the moment in my videos where we talk about pricing, with the timestamp."
* "Which AI apps cited or played my videos last week?"

## Library MCP

Each public library has its own MCP server. It needs no sign-in and no key. Every call stays inside that library.

```text theme={null}
https://mcp.agentcdn.com/c/your-brand/mcp
```

| Tool | What it does |
| - | - |
| `search_videos` | Finds the moments in this catalog that answer a question, best first. |
| `search` | The same search in the shape ChatGPT expects, with public citation links. |
| `fetch` | Full context for one search result, with its public citation link. |
| `get_moment_context` | Transcript, chapters, shot captions, on-screen text and entities for a time window. |
| `get_creator_profile` | Who owns the library and what it holds. No playback data. |
| `get_video_stream` | A signed playback response for one selected moment, with the inline player card. |
| `get_segment_rights` | The rights for quoting, clipping, AI training, licensing and playback. |
| `record_usage` | Reports that an agent used a moment, and returns a signed receipt. |
| `get_memory_page` | A cited summary page of the library, or of one video, topic or person. |

Search never returns a stream URL. Playback goes through `get_video_stream`, which checks your rights first.

To call it directly, send both of these headers. Without the `Accept` header the server answers `406`.

```bash theme={null}
curl -s https://mcp.agentcdn.com/c/your-brand/mcp \
  -H "Content-Type: application/json" \
  -H "Accept: application/json, text/event-stream" \
  -d '{"jsonrpc":"2.0","id":1,"method":"tools/list"}'
```

## Network MCP

`https://mcp.agentcdn.com/mcp` searches every public library at once. It offers `search`, `fetch`, `get_video_stream` and `record_usage`.

## Playback inside AI apps

What plays in Claude and ChatGPT differs. See [Play a moment in an AI app](https://docs.agentcdn.com/guides/play-in-chat.md) and [Play in your own player](https://docs.agentcdn.com/guides/playback.md).

## App directories

Anyone can add a library by its URL, as above. A listing in an app directory, such as the ChatGPT app directory, goes through that app's own review. You do not need a listing to test or demo.
