Each video carries one rights policy. It applies to the account by default, and you can set it per video. Every AgentTV surface reads the same policy: the page block, the ARV record, search, Ask, the MCP tools and playback. There is no second copy to keep in sync.

What the rights cover

Read the rights in force for one moment with the get_segment_rights MCP tool, or in the rights field of the ARV record. A rights answer expires 10 minutes after it is evaluated, so read it again rather than store it.

Allow or block

You set three uses for AI apps, for the account or per video:
  • Citation: allow or block.
  • Playback: allow or block. Block can keep a free preview of 30, 60 or 120 seconds.
  • Training: allow or block. Blocked by default.
See Control AI access.

How the rules are enforced

  • Search never mints a stream URL. Search, discovery, the page block and the ARV record never carry one.
  • Playback is signed. A stream URL comes only from a playback call. The call checks the rights first, then signs a short-lived session for one video and one start time.
  • Every use is logged. Plays, citations and key reads write a usage event. An AI app that reports a use gets a signed receipt. See Measure usage.
  • Changes reach every surface. A rights change shows on the next fetch. Cached page blocks follow within 10 minutes.

What AgentTV does not control

AgentTV does not block crawlers on your own domain. Your robots.txt, your CDN and your bot rules decide what reaches your pages. AgentTV controls what happens on its own surfaces: the metadata it serves, the answers it gives and the plays it signs.
